Legal Interpretation Services

Bromberg & Associates Provides Language Access to Justice

"When words are especially important and clarity is sought, all parties need to be aware that the interpreter is not a narrator, but a repeater. Clear communication is essential in legal setting where the rights of others and life itself are at stake…"

Position Papers. National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators. http://www.najit.org/position papers.html

In 2000, the number of people in Michigan and speaking a language other than English at home was more than 781,381, which is 8.4% of the entire population. In Southeast Michigan, this segment currently amounts to 13%. The common term for this group is people with limited English proficiency, or LEP population. According to the U.S. law, this group of people has a right to have meaningful language access to the vitally essential public services, such as services provided by the legal system and by health care system. The mission of professional interpreters is to supply a non-English speaking person with "ears and voice", to put him or her in the same position as an English-speaking individual.

As a member of the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators Bromberg & Associates supports the mission, goals, and values of this organization, as well as complies with the Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibilities.

OUR MISSION: To provide high quality language services to ensure equal access to justice for individuals with limited English proficiency and to promote professional standards of performance and integrity.
